Get help
We aim to reply to every request within 24 hours, weekends included.
Support is by email: the form below, or support@rotulus.io. Requests go to the developer who makes Rotulus, who aims to answer each one. A reply is not always a fix. If we are away for more than a day, an automatic reply says so.
Start with Help
Press F1 in Rotulus, or choose Help Contents… from the Help menu. Its topics cover setup, presenting, Show Sync and troubleshooting, and its search box finds them by any word.
On a show day
None of these needs a reply from us. The quotes are from Rotulus's own Help.
- Rehearse on what you will run. Run through the script on the computers, displays and version of Rotulus you will use for the show.
- Run Display Check. Prompter → Display Check… lists every connected screen and anything in the setup that will make the scroll uneven, each with its fix. (Help → Display Check)
- Keep your fallback ready. Have it in place before the show starts: a backup computer, printed scripts or a second operator. During the beta, keep a fallback that does not depend on Rotulus.
- Show Sync's backup takes over. With a second laptop following in Show Sync: “If the primary dies mid-show, the backup keeps the show going on the same line at the same speed.” “F10 on the backup takes over: it says it has the show, and Show Sync stays on.” If only the link drops, “The backup keeps scrolling at the last speed on its own.” (Help → What Show Sync does; Who has the show; When it will not connect)
- Screen Black. “Ctrl+Shift+B (Prompter → Screen Black) covers the display with black” until you press it again, Esc, or click. “The scroll is not affected: if it was playing, it is still playing underneath.” On a Mac, press ⌘ in place of Ctrl. (Help → Screen Black)
- After a crash, Recover opens by itself. Start Rotulus again. If it did not close cleanly, the Recover window opens with your auto-saved scripts. (Help → Auto-save and recovery)
- Then tell us. Send a request below and answer Yes, a show is running now (or Within the next 24 hours if it has not started yet). It arrives flagged as a show-day request and is read first. We aim to reply within 24 hours.
- Afterwards, attach the crash log. Help → Reporting a problem says where it is: “crash.log from the settings folder (its path is in the About window)”.

Thanks — your request is in our support inbox, and we aim to reply within 24 hours. While the show runs, carry on with your fallback.
